Welcome to the 107th Western Junior Championship

The Western Junior, the oldest national junior tournament in the United States, draws the top junior players from more than 40 states and internationally each year. The event has long been a testing ground for stars of the future, including current PGA TOUR stars Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, and Rickie Fowler, and veterans Fred Couples, Jim Furyk, Craig Stadler and Corey Pavin.

The field features 156 invited players from across the world. They play 18 holes of individual stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday, after which the field is cut to the low 44 scores and ties. The remaining players play 36 holes of individual stroke play on Thursday to decide a champion.

The Harvester Club in Rhodes, Iowa, will host its first Western Golf Association championship when it welcomes the 107th Western Junior Championship. Opening in 2000, The Harvester Club quickly became a distinguished Keith Foster design in the rolling Iowa fields northeast of Des Moines. Nearly two decades after its debut, Foster returned to Rhodes to lead a renovation of the modern club into a timeless design with parallels to golf’s classic courses of the 1920s. Since 2013, The Harvester Club has been regarded as the best golf course in Iowa by Golf Digest.

The Harvester Club’s newly created youth caddie program recently had its first student caddie earn the Evans Scholarship in 2024.
